Basketball season has officially begun....

And with this post, I am realizing that I haven't posted pics from Berkeley's slumber party. I will have to get that done, huh? Anyway, we are in full force with basketball. We had a pre-season tournament on Sunday to allow the coaches a chance to see their teams in action before commiting the players to the A and B teams. Berkeley played in both the A and B team games, and did quite well, scoring 10 of the 30 points in the B game. She took 4 layups in a row at one point! With only 2-3 weeks into practice, I think we will have a great team, both A and B. Regular season games begin December 5th and run through February....yep, a veerrryyy long season. As always, though I love to watch her at the things she enjoyed so much, so it makes it all worth it....and hopefully it will fund us some scholarships to college in the near future...:)

Until next time.....

Berkeley's 11th Birthday

We celebrated Miss Thang's 11th Birthday on the 28th. At her request, Bill cooked spaghetti, and we had cake and presents afterward. We will be having her "friends" party this coming weekend at the Country Inn and Suites. Bill won a free night at one of his golf tournaments, so we rented an additional adjoining room, and the girls can swim, eat pizza, watch movies and have a good time, and I don't have to cook, clean or entertain....its all done!! My kind of party!!! So, here are the pictures from our family party. More will come after we get the friends party over with.

Berkeley Wakeboarding!!!

Berkeley has become quite the little wakeboarder this summer. Someone gave us a wakeboard for her last summer, but it was so late in the season when we started, that she didn't really get a chance to really get the hang of the whole thing. This year, she has just done great! She is now getting comfortable with her balance and is trying to move around on the water. She has had her share of faceplants in the water, but she gets right back up and goes again!! At this rate, by next summer she is gonna be doing tricks!! LOL!

One last post for now...

Berkeley finally got the opportunity to pitch for the first time during one of her games this year...she has been practicing a lot, and waiting for the time when given the opportunity to try her hand on the mound. She still has a ways to go before we can say she is a "PITCHER", but she is trying and practicing, and at any opportunity in the game situation, she is ready and waiting!! Here are a few shots I got of her first time on the mound!!

Oh, and I almost forgot the things she is most proud of....She finished the year with 3 homeruns, with one being a GRAND SLAM!! YAY!!! She is soooooo proud of her homeruns....I have said it once and I will say it again...my baby is becoming quite the little softball player, and she truely loves what she does.

2009 2-XTREME 10 & under softball team

Ending out our season, we participated in the league end of season tournament, sweeping the tournament, as well as the season. Each and every 2-Xtreme player had a fabulous year, and our undefeated league record is proof of their hard work and dedication to their team and the sport. Here are the last of the pictures from the season, which are from the championship game and our team pictures.

2009 ASA State Softball Tournament

I know this is very late in being posted, but better late than never.....
Berkeley, with her softball team, 2-Xtreme, participated in their first state tournament Father's Day weekend in Little Rock. It was soooooo hot, and the girls had a fabulous time, and fought to the very end. Under circumstances out of our hand, we were put into play under some rules we were not accustomed to playing under (stealing home, infield fly, 3rd strike run) in our local league rules for 10 and under. This, of course, set up a little confusion on the field, and made us have to work a little harder for our wins. Everything is a learning experience, and that is always a good thing. In the end, after a long, hot, grueling day at the field, we brought home the 3rd place trophy. Here are some pictures from the day.

2009 ASA District 12 Tournament

This past weekend we competed in the District tournament and took 2nd place. We began playing at 8:30 Saturday morning and did not finish our last game until well after 10pm that night, ending with our loss in the championship game, placing us at 2nd. We are so excited to have done so well, being that this was only our 2nd tournament to have ever participated in. It was a very long day, but so super fun for the girl and parents alike.

Resting between games.....

The coaches giving a pep talk and game plan in preparation for the next game.

2-XTREME!!!!

The later it got, the kookier they got.....
