Softball is in full swing for the fall season, but thanks to Gustav, Berkeley's first game was rained out as were all of her practices for last week. She is playing on a team called the Dirty Divas this fall, and will probably be with this team from here on out through high school. She has a pretty good coach who believes in practicing and running the girls to keep them focused on the game. Bill is also assisting and is enjoying being apart of the team as well. At this time, she will be starting at short stop, but has also practiced at 1st and 3rd bases.
In other news, we have 2 new sets of neighbors on the street, and both have children Berkeley's age. The have taken up frog hunting and give them new homes in the water meter holes in the yards. I think they have up around 20 or more frogs throughout the holes along the street. They spend hours a day taking care of these frogs, and they are certain that a few of them have "made babies" and new baby frogs are on the way....LOL!
Scool is going well this year, so far. She is adjusting well to having 6 core class teachers, and seems to enjoy the change. We still are having to push her to read as much as we would like, but she is getting better. I can't believe we have already been in school 3 weeks.
So, that's it for a Berkeley update at this time...as we get more active in the school year, there will be more news to come.
